It all began 2 weeks before THE COVID pandemic…

1st of March, 2020

Completely unaware of the chaos the world was about to dive into, Adam and Julia met for the first time at a cozy bar in the heart of Harvard Square, Cambridge. They connected instantly over a shared love for nature, adventure, and academic nerdery, with a sprinkle of ambition to change the world. By the end of the night, both left with a secret suspicion that something special was brewing.

15th of March, 2020

As snow sports enthusiasts, Adam and Julia slightly panicked at the thought of the pandemic cutting the ski season short, and Adam boldly invited Julia on a ski trip to Maine for their fourth date. Julia didn’t hesitate for a second. That day turned out to be the last one ski resorts stayed open in the US, and, well, the rest of the world was about to shut down too.

April to July of 2020

As COVID-19 peaked, the universe threw a major challenge their way far sooner than they’d anticipated: quarantine together and see no one but each other for an unknown length of time? As the saying goes, “whatever is meant to be will happen.” So, they created their own little quarantine bubble. From hiking in New Hampshire and biking around Boston to renting a Vermont cabin and road-tripping through American Southwest in a campervan, these two independent and self-sufficient individuals discovered they actually liked being around each other — like, all the time and bit too much.

That quarantine bubble turned into something much bigger. Together, they explored continents, took countless ski trips, and shared late night study and work sessions. When life presented more crossroads, they continued to choose each other: Julia worked remotely from Boston for three years to stay close to Adam, and Adam later moved to Chicago to be with Julia for her PhD.

September 2023

In September of 2023, Julia and Adam went on their second Hawaiian adventure. This time to backpack the famous Kalalau trail on the Na Pali Coast for 3 days, hiking through breathtaking cliffs and camping on the magical, remote Kalalau Beach. On the 2nd day, they shared a pre-packed meal on the beach while overlooking the sunset with not a soul in sight. Adam then awkwardly proposed that he could see them enjoy moments like this together for the rest of their lives. Then he pulled out the ring…

….And now, here we are, planning the next big adventure together with all of you in Brazil!
